Monday Night Net Script

This is a suggested script only.  If you are familiar with the net and have your own style, please feel free to continue.

All capitalized (Red) lines are directions for net control everything else should be read.  Feel free to make changes as appropriate.  

CQ…..CQ…..CQ…..CQ

This is (call sign), (phonetically), (name), with the Gwinnett Amateur Radio Society Monday night Want, Swap, Sell and Information net. This net meets every Monday night at 8PM, to help keep amateur radio operators up to date on events and news and allows participants a chance to offer items for sell, trade. 

You do not have to be a member of GARS to participate in this net, and all are welcome to join in. This is not an emergency net, however, if there is any emergency traffic during the net, please inform net control by saying “BREAK BREAK” and your call sign, and the net will handle the emergency traffic as required.

The Gwinnett Amateur Radio Society is an amateur radio club serving Gwinnett County, Georgia, in the North Metro Atlanta area. We are a Special Service club affiliated with the ARRL. With over 200 members, GARS is an active part of the Amateur Radio community, and plays an important role in Gwinnett County. When checking in net control asks that you give your call sign once, then again phonetically, and then your name and location. Also, while checking in, please inform net control if you have any swap shop items or announcements. Remember that to check into our net you do not have to be a member of Gwinnett Amateur Radio Society to check-in.

When checking in, please key down and say “THIS IS”, then un-key and listen for others. If you don’t hear anyone else doubling, key down and check in. Net control will now take check-ins in the following order: 

First: Short Timers, Mobile or Low Power stations.

Second: Officers and Committee Chairs.

Third:  Announcements, want, swap, trade items.

Fourth: General Check-ins.

We will now take Short Timers, Mobile, or Low Power check-ins.

CHECK-INS

TAKE CHECK-INS AND RECORD THEM IN YOUR LOG. PAUSE EVERY FEW CHECK-INS AND VERIFY THE CALL SIGN, NAME AND LOCATION OF EACH CHECK-IN.

We will now take check-ins from Officers or Committee Chairs ONLY

ANNOUNCEMENTS

This is a good time to ask for announcements. 

Net control (call sign) will now recognize those with announcements but first lets make sure we have all the announcements. If you have an announcement and failed to say so when checking-in, call net control now (call sign) now.

PAUSE FOR ANNOUNCEMENT CHECK-INS

GO TO THE TOP OF THE LIST AND ALLOW THOSE THAT CHECKED IN WITH ANNOUNCEMENTS TO MAKE THEM.

Acknowledge each check in by call sign and allow them to make their announcement.

AFTER EACH ANNOUNCEMENT ASK IF ANYONE NEEDS FILLS OR REPEATS ON THE ANNOUNCEMENT THEN THANK THE CHECK-IN FOR THE ANNOUNCEMENT AND GO TO THE NEXT ONE.

GENERAL CHECK-INS

AFTER ALL ANNOUNCEMENTS HAVE BEEN MADE PAUSE FOR ADDITIONAL CHECK-INS

Net control (Call Sign) will now pause for general check-ins. When checking in, please key down and say “THIS IS”, then un-key and listen for others. If you don’t hear anyone else doubling, key down and check in. Net control will now take check-ins.

Net control will now pause and ask for any additional check-ins please call (call sign) now.

CONCLUSION

NET CONTROL SHOULD RECAP THE ANNOUNCEMENTS FOR LATE CHECK-INS

Net control (Call Sign) will now recap the announcements.

IF NONE,  CONCLUDE THE NET.
